1. Who Is Responsible for Your Information
Sheon is published under the developer name Ercanbrack Events and is operated by ERCANBRACK EVENTS, LLC (“Sheon,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). ERCANBRACK EVENTS, LLC is the data controller where applicable privacy law uses that term.
This Policy applies to the Sheon Android application, Sheon web pages that link to it, customer support, safety review, and related services (together, the “Services”). It does not govern independent third-party products that have their own privacy notices.
2. Adults Only
The Services are designed solely for people aged 18 or older. A person under 18 must not register, use another person’s account, or participate in a Sheon interaction. Our approach to suspected minor access and child sexual abuse and exploitation is described in the Sheon Child Safety Policy.
3. Information We Handle
Information you enter
- account details, such as a user ID, login credential, email address or phone number where enabled;
- profile details, such as display name, age or date-of-birth information, gender, language, biography, interests, avatar, photos, and preferences;
- support correspondence, survey answers, appeals, reports, and other information you choose to send us; and
- age-eligibility or account-verification information requested to protect users or satisfy law.
Content and communications
We process the content you choose to create, send, or make available through Sheon, which may include text messages, profile media, photos, videos, voice messages, and audio or video streams used for one-to-one calls. Live media must be transmitted and technically processed to connect participants. Safety metadata—such as participants, timestamps, duration, reports, blocks, and enforcement history—may also be processed.
Do not share information in a call or message that you would not want the recipient to retain. Other users can record, copy, screenshot, or redistribute content using tools outside our control.
Device, connection, and activity information
- device type, manufacturer, operating system, app version, language, time zone, and technical identifiers;
- IP address, network status, approximate location inferred from IP, crash data, diagnostics, and performance information;
- feature interactions, session times, screens viewed, matches or connections, reports, blocks, and advertising interactions; and
- Android Advertising ID or similar resettable identifiers when advertising or measurement is enabled and permitted.
Google Play purchase information
Google Play processes your payment credentials. We do not receive your complete card number or Google account password. We may receive a product identifier, order or transaction ID, purchase time, country, currency, price, refund status, and entitlement information so that we can deliver and administer the purchase.
4. Android Permissions
Android permissions are requested in context. You can deny or later revoke optional permissions through Android settings, but the related feature may no longer work.
| Permission or capability | Why Sheon may use it |
|---|---|
| Camera | To transmit video during a call and to let you capture profile or message media when you choose. |
| Microphone / record audio | To transmit your voice in audio or video calls and create voice messages after you activate the feature. |
| Photos, videos, audio, or system media picker | To let you select, upload, display, save, or share media. On older Android versions, legacy storage permissions may be used only where technically required. |
| Internet, network state, and Wi-Fi state | To connect calls, deliver messages, detect connectivity, retry transfers, and improve service reliability. |
| Advertising ID | To deliver, limit, secure, and measure advertising where this feature is enabled and legally permitted. |
| Notifications and vibration | To alert you to messages, calls, safety notices, account events, and purchase updates according to your settings. |
| Audio settings and wake lock | To route call audio properly and keep an active call from being interrupted by device sleep. |
5. Why We Use Information
We process information to:
- register and authenticate accounts, build profiles, connect users, and deliver calls, messages, media, and support;
- fulfill Google Play purchases and maintain balances or digital entitlements;
- personalize language, content, recommendations, and—where allowed—advertising;
- maintain performance, diagnose failures, measure features, prevent duplicate delivery, and improve Sheon;
- detect fake accounts, spam, scams, fraud, harassment, non-consensual content, child exploitation, and other safety threats;
- investigate reports, enforce the Terms of Use and Child Safety Policy, and handle appeals;
- communicate about security, policy changes, transactions, support requests, and service administration; and
- meet legal duties, respond to lawful process, preserve evidence, and establish or defend legal claims.
6. Legal Grounds
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Services, compliance with legal obligations, protection of vital interests in emergencies, and consent where the law requires it. You may withdraw consent prospectively, but withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully completed.
7. When Information Is Disclosed
We may disclose relevant information:
- to other users, when you share a profile, message, call, or other content with them;
- to processors, including hosting, call infrastructure, content delivery, messaging, moderation, customer support, analytics, security, and communications vendors acting for us;
- to Google Play and payment partners, to verify purchases, deliver entitlements, address fraud, and manage refunds;
- to advertising and measurement partners, where advertising is enabled and subject to available choices and law;
- to authorities or safety organizations, when required by law or reasonably necessary to address illegal content, a valid request, or an imminent risk of serious harm; and
- in a business transaction, such as a merger, financing, reorganization, or transfer, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
We do not sell personal information for money. Some U.S. privacy laws may classify certain advertising disclosures as “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising. Eligible users may opt out by using available privacy controls or contacting us.
8. International Processing
Sheon serves users across countries. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where we or our vendors operate. When required, we use contractual protections or another legally recognized transfer mechanism and apply safeguards appropriate to the information and risk.
9. Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, taking account of account status, user expectations, legal duties, safety risks, disputes, and technical backup cycles.
| Category | General retention approach |
|---|---|
| Account, profile, messages, and user content | While the account is active and until deletion, subject to limited safety, legal, and backup exceptions. |
| Purchase and accounting records | For the period required for tax, accounting, refunds, chargebacks, and legal compliance; this may be up to seven years in some jurisdictions. |
| Reports, enforcement, and security records | For as long as reasonably needed to prevent repeat abuse, resolve appeals, protect users, and meet legal obligations. |
| Backups | Removed or overwritten on a controlled cycle and isolated from ordinary product use while retained. |
| Aggregated or de-identified information | May be kept when it no longer reasonably identifies an individual. |
10. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to protect information, such as access controls, transport encryption, logging, monitoring, vendor review, and incident-response procedures. No online service can promise absolute security. Protect your credentials, secure your device, and notify us if you suspect unauthorized account access.
11. Your Controls and Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, an advertising opt-out, or review of a denied request. We may verify your identity and may deny or limit a request where permitted by law, including to protect another person’s rights or preserve security evidence.
You can change profile information and communication settings in Sheon, revoke Android permissions in device settings, reset or delete the Advertising ID through Android settings, block or report users, and delete your account.
12. Account and Data Deletion
Sheon provides an in-app deletion path and an external request method. For instructions, required information, deletion scope, and limited retention exceptions, use the Sheon Account Deletion page. Account suspension or deactivation is not treated as deletion.
13. Regional Information
Residents of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland may complain to their local data-protection authority and may exercise applicable GDPR-style rights. Residents of U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws may exercise applicable access, correction, deletion, portability, targeted-advertising opt-out, sale or sharing opt-out, limitation, and appeal rights. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
14. Updates to This Policy
We may revise this Policy as Sheon, our vendors, or applicable law changes. The updated page will show a new effective date. Material changes will receive additional in-app, email, or other notice when required.
